Governorship Candidate of the APC in Rivers State, Architect Tonye Cole has called on all governorship candidates in the state from the Kalabari extraction to jettison their governorship ambitions and join forces with him to actualize the Kalabari governorship dream.
Tonye Cole made the appeal at a campaign rally in Degema LGA of Rivers State shortly after the endorsement of his governorship bid by former Niger Delta freedom fighter, High Chief Asari Dokubo.
He appealed to Dumo Lulu Briggs of Accord Party, Sobomabo Jackrich of NRM, Dawari George of Action Alliance, and Wenike Briggs of YPP to close ranks with him, as their force would be more than enough to root out the PDP led administration to enthrone an all inclusive government in the state.
Pastor Tonye Cole said the call if heeded to by the governorship candidates, will put to rest the wrong notion in the public space that Kalabaris were not united to fight for a common cause.
He said the APC government will restore the sanctity of the traditional institution, as well as ensure human capital development across all parts of the state.
Earlier, former Niger Delta Warlord, High Chief Asari Dokubo said he endorsed the candidacy of Tonye Cole because was the best amongst other governorship candidates of the Kalabari extraction in the race.
He said plans by desperate politicians to acquire weapons and recruit youths some misguided youths to rig the forthcoming elections was an exercise in futility.
On his part, State Chairman of the APC in Rivers State, Chief Emeka Beke questioned the current party membership status of Governor Nyesom Wike, as his current disposition now makes it almost impossible to ascertain the political party the governor currently belongs.
He advised the governor that if he was interested in joining the APC, he should do so through the right channel instead of through the back door.
Recall that Governor Wike recently approved the use of Yakubu Gowon Stadium for the campaign of the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu in Rivers State.
